Teacher Appreciation Week 2011

I am finally getting to these pictures. I wanted to remember what we did for Teacher Appreciation week so I don't have to reinvent it all again next year.

Daniel's class card for his teacher

Sam's card for his teacher, I love it!!

Tea Towels I appliqued for both teachers.

Daniel's class room door. Mrs. Black 3rd grade 2010-2011. We found the letters and puppies at a school supply store. (the Book Table here in Logan).

Class gift for Daniel's Teachers: I had all the students write a little note to Mrs. Black on a cardstock leaf. Then I hot glued each leaf to an apple stem. I picked up the basket at Hobby Lobby for half price. It was a pretty cheap but cute gift from the kids.

Things I've made

Alex made this pillow case in 4-H. He picked out the fabric, can you tell?

I made this bug dress for Amiah when she was 2 years old. It is fun to see Bella wearing it. It is just a basic dress pattern, I added a flower made from ribbon and a button to the front. My sister, Liz, taught me how to make cork screw ribbon hair pretties last summer. I made the ones Bella is wearing to match an outfit she has outgrown, but they go pretty well with her bug dress.

Quilt I made my mom for her birthday about 9 years ago.

Back of the "Eye Spy" quilt pictured bellow.

"Eye Spy" quilt I made for Alex when he was in a toddler bed.

I made this strip quilt blanket for Bella. The fabric is flannel and the darker blue stripes are the minkie fabric.

I found the instructions for Bella's blanket on my friends blog. It is super easy. It is called quilt as you go row quilt. My friends blog is http://www.moosequilts.blogspot.com/ This is the link to the instructions for the row quilt: http://www.moosequilts.com/RowQuiltSmall.pdf

Amiah made this pillow case in 4-H. This is my favorite pillow case pattern.

Amiah picked the fabric. I love the fring. The two wavy stripes are felt.

Bella's Flutter Sleeve Dress

For my birthday last year Dave gave me some cash so I could go on a little "retreat" by myself. I finally went at the end of January this year. It was so great!! I almost didn't want to come home. I went to Salt Lake and stayed in a hotel. I took my sewing machine and a quilt I started when Sam was born. The quilt is for my bed and I was almost able to finish sewing all the blocks together, one of these day's I might actually finish it.

The funnest thing I did was go to Gardner Village for the first time. It was so great! At first I was kind of sad because I thought how much fun it would have been to come with my mom, she would have really enjoyed "window shopping". But then I found the quilt shop, and I spent the next hour and a half in a daze as I wondered around. I finally decided on a cute top and purse to make for Bella. I had a lot of fun picking out the fabric for it. The quilt shop is called Pine Needles. In addition to quilt fabric, they also sell stitchery.

Bella in top I made for her. She has leggings to go with it, but likes to where it without. Crazy girl thinks it is summer. She loves wearing swimming suits and little dresses.

Dr. Seuss' Birthday

Wednesday was Literacy Night at Daniel and Sam's school. They always have a Dr. Seuss birthday theme. The funnest part about the night is the story teller he is really funny and he comes every year with new and old stories to share. The boys did the book walk and Sam was lucky enough to win a Clifford book. They made bookmarks. In the computer lab they taught us how to access the school libriary from home and gave us a lot of fun educational game websites. Alex and Amiah watched Bella so I only had to take the two little boys. It was a nice night out.

Daniel's #9 Birthday

The Birthday boy and his cake. Sam and Bella had a lot of fun covering the cake with dirt, worms, sharks, frogs, and fish.
Daniel's birthday was Monday, February 28, 2011. We had a three day celebration for him, because of Dave's work schedule and a family gathering. Luckily we had enough little presents for him to open some each day. We started with the "Official" party on Saturday night. We opened presents, than had cake and ice cream then played a fun wii game Daniel got. I wish I had pictures of everyone playing the game it was really funny. The game is called Active Life Explorer, it has a lot of running and jumping.

Poor Sam waited all day for the party and then zonked before it got started. He wasn't feeling very good, poor little guy.

Fun breakfast in bed party. Sam is on top, Daniel and Amiah in the middle, and Isabella on the floor.

The party continued Sunday morning with breakfast in bed and more presents. Daniel requested peach crisp for breakfast. Sunday night we went to my brother Will's house and played games and celebrated my nephew, Zach's birthday.
